McInerney Saunders today announced their partnership with Paralympics Ireland. The partnership agreement sees McInerney Saunders becoming the official chartered accountants to Paralympics Ireland and becoming the in-kind provider of all professional accounting, book-keeping, payroll, financial and HR services to Paralympics Ireland.

Announcing the partnership agreement, Paralympics Ireland Chief Executive Officer, Liam Harbison stated:

“We are tremendously pleased and excited to have such an established Irish Chartered Accountancy firm such as McInerney Saunders partner us. This partnership will result in greater efficiencies internally for our organisations therefore allowing our performance staff focus yet further on our extensive partnerships for the London 2012 Games and beyond”.

Speaking at the announcement Neal Morrison, Partner, McInerney Saunders said:

“We are delighted to be associated with Paralympics Ireland over the course of the next four years as the athletes pursue their sporting dreams in London and further afield. The athletes are without doubt an enormous source of inspiration for our team at McInerney Saunders and it is proving hugely exciting for them to be associated with Irelands Paralympians”.

Already the McInerney Saunders staff team has been busy playing their part in Paralympics Ireland’s major fundraising drive for London 2012. A sizeable number of the team have signed up and are training to run this year’s mini-marathon in aid of Paralympics Ireland.

Ireland’s latest World Championship medalist; local athlete Catherine Walsh, who claimed bronze with her sighted pilot rider Fran Meehan in the 3km Individual Pursuit at the Paracycling Track World Championships in Italy a fortnight ago was on hand to launch the new partnership agreement. Catherine, who has competed in four Paralympic Games, took time out of her training schedule to address the McInerney Saunders staff team and let them in to what the life of a Paralympic athlete entails.
