Owen is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is Managing Partner of McInerney Saunders. He joined the firm in 1991 and was appointed Partner in 2003. Apart from being responsible for the strategic development of the firm, Owen works closely with clients across a wide range of sectors, including hospitality, transport & logistics and professional services.

Susan is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of Ireland. Susan joined McInerney Saunders in 1991 and is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of clients which includes SMEs, International Freight companies, Schools and Publicly Funded Entities. Susan oversees our Accounts, payroll and bookkeeping service offerings and enjoys working closely with start-ups and owner manged businesses interested in growing their operations

Donagh Waters - Partner

Donagh is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds a Diploma in Forensic Accounting, awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Donagh joined McInerney Saunders from Deloitte in 2005 and is the firm’s Audit Compliance Partner with responsibility for overseeing the delivery of the firm’s audit and assurance services. Donagh has a diverse portfolio which includes Irish subsidiaries of multi-national groups, Credit Unions, SMEs, Sporting Organisations and Publically Funded Entities. He also delivers advisory services to clients in the areas of due diligence and risk identification and minimisation

John Fitzgerald - Partner

John Fitzgerald - Partner

John is an Associate member of the Irish Taxation Institute and a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA). He joined McInerney Saunders in 2008 and currently manages the firm’s taxation services. John formerly worked in industry where he managed and owned a number of retail outlets. John has several years of experience in dealing with all elements of taxation including corporate and personal tax compliance, Revenue Audits and advising on property investment and development transactions. John works extensively with both domestic and international commercial entities to ensure they are compliant with their Irish tax obligations and that proposed transactions are structured appropriately.

Deirdre McGinley - Partner

Deirdre is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and is an audit specialist. She trained with EY and later worked with a medium-sized practice. Deirdre joined the firm in 2015 and was appointed as a Partner of the firm in January 2024. Deirdre has significant experience of managing audit engagements across a range of sectors.

Ruth is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and also holds a Diploma in Insolvency and a Certificate in Personal Insolvency from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. She is a Director in our Advisory Department, having previously played a leading role in our Insolvency and Recovery Department. Ruth has a particular speciality in helping businesses grow and increase their value through her strategic input and advice. Prior to joining McInerney Saunders Ruth operated as a Financial Controller in Industry.

Darragh Henry - Audit Director

Darragh is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds a Diploma in IFRS. He joined McInerney Saunders in 1997 and has since been appointed as a Director within the Audit and Accounts Department. Darragh has significant experience of carrying out audit and advisory engagements for Credit Unions, freight companies, pharmacies, manufacturing companies and property management companies.

Rachel is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and is a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA). Rachel also has a degree in Human Resource Management. Rachel is a Director in our taxation Department having joined McInerney Saunders in 2020. Rachel is an experienced Tax Advisor with over 19 years’ professional experience since first qualifying as a chartered accountant. Rachel has experience in providing tax planning and consultancy services to a wide range of clients across all tax heads. Rachel also has extensive expertise in providing tailored tax advice to private clients to include gift and inheritance tax planning for high net worth individuals and their families and providing advice to non-domiciled individuals living in Ireland to ensure their investment portfolios are structured tax efficiently. She also provides advice on the taxation of severance payments and other employment related tax issues.

Karen is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and specialises in assurance and business advisory services for indigenous and international companies across a range of sectors.

Karen is a Director in our Audit and Accounts department having joined McInerney Saunders in 2023. Karen has over 15 years’ experience in practice and has gained a wide range of experience working across a number of disciplines.  Karen advises on statutory audit, technical accounting and has significant experience of FRS 102 and Irish GAAP.
